Mr. Cabby
Hey I m Vidhi Sharama. I just got transferred to New York Branch of State Bank of India. When I broke this exciting news to my family every one was so charged up.I was the first girl going to abroad before getting married. Before it there was a custom going in our family that all girls were shifted to abroad after their marriage. It was really a proud moment for me. I now finally can say that I achieved something in life and that I m self dependent. There was a session started of shopping and packing in all the necessary stuff. Mom and dad came to drop me to the airport. I was really happy that dad has a smile on his face and was so proud of me. Mom become a bit emotional but controlled her tears. I hugged them and went to the airport. The flight was on time, I took my boarding pass from the respective counter and was sitting in the lounge waiting for the check in announcement. I finally got into the plane and was very delightful by the services of Air India's crew members. The flight took off and through my window I could see Delhi beautiful night view.

I came out from JFK International Airport, New York. It was really a nice weather. I took my luggage and came to the waiting area. I checked my phone there was a message from my office mentioning the address for my stay till I find a place to live. I opened Uber application and book a pickup for my hotel. It was some Vikram Singh, the name of the cab driver. I didn't knew that I could even get an Indian driver in New York. The cab arrived in a few minutes. The driver took my luggage and put it into the trunk of the car. The taxi headed towards the hotel. As I was wondering out the buildings of New York my driver asked that M I Indian. I said yes how do u know. He: An Indian can easily find out other Indian. Me: Ohh so u r also from India nice.. He then told about how he got to New York. He said that he works in an advertising firm and drives cab as a part time job. It was a custom in cities like New York that if u have to survive in the city u have to do some part time job also. I was wondering what will I do. We both talked all the way long I also shared some snacks that I have brought from India. I reached down my hotel.
My joining was from Monday so I had a full vacant Sunday to do nothing. So I thought let's check out New York. I just booked my cab and no clue how I got my driver same as previous one The Indian Vikram. I thought It would be a nice having an Indian driver with whom I can communicate easily. The cab arrived and as I step in he said Ohh u what a surprise. He was not expecting me again I believe. So I took a ride to central park. Vikram said that it was his last ride of the day so can he also join in. I felt a bit weird that he was a cab driver and I was a banker not a match at all. We walked all the way long through Central Park and did our snacks at Central Perk a famous shop where FRIENDS has also been shot.
Next day I joined my office, it was really a nice experience working with all the Indian bankers in abroad. I reached home and did Skype with mom and dad. Told them about my first day of office. As the call ended I got a bit emotional as I remembered the first day of my school when I came home and told each and every small thing to mom and dad. HOW TIME PASSES no wonder.
I was sitting on the couch watching an American TV series just then I got a msg mentioning 'Hi' from a US number. I couldn't recognise who was it so I asked "Who's dis" the reply came 'Hey Vikram here remember'. Then we talked for a while he asked me how was my first day. We both chatted about an hour and got to know much about each other. He was really a nice guy, a polite n humble one.
**************
We started talking every day, he always use to pick me and drop me up when he was not on booking. One day suddenly he asked me out for a dinner date. I was really not expecting this but I said yes because he really became a good friend of mine. We went to an Indian restaurant Tarmarind Tribeca. The food was really awesome then we walked all way long to the hotel. We both were silent and could feel the cold Breeze of New York City.
He then just suddenly hold my hand and the words he said still echo in my mind "Vidhi I really Love U" there was so much noise around but for me it was like pin drop silence. He said: 'I don't know how all this happened but u have became really special for me'. I couldn't resist myself saying Yes as his eyes were so much deeply filled with love and from then to forever Me and Mr.Cabby lived joyfully. Now I totally accept the fact that LOVES SEEMS NO STATUS and NO BOUNDARIES. Its just a pure connection between two souls.
